Jim cut hair in this location for over 30 years. A neighborhood and town crotchety favorite, he always had a joke to tell you and a debate to be had. He cut newscasters, to children and homeless people, no one was turned away. We bonded over a love of history and politics. A force to be reckoned with and respected, Jim was one of my favorite photographic subjects. It started as a school project about people working and it turned into a friendship. I have a great deal of respect for those who work primarily with their hands. These strong hands helped shape my world view.
